Making Juneteenth a National Holiday

Be Apart of 29 Years Of History

2018 will mark Manhattan Juneteenth's 29th Year of celebrating. With new activities and events appealing to families, people of all ages and walks of life, while acknowledging the importance and meaning associated with the day.  Also, this will be the Third Annual Juneteenth Community Unity Walk.

We invite those who believe in Community Unity, to be apart of the Manhattan Juneteenth's Community Council as we witness history in the making, Juneteenth being recognized as National Holiday.

Manhattan Juneteenth Council's mission is to unite the community by organizing a event for all, by acknowledging a moment in history, to raise the awareness of the significant role not only the State of Kansas played, but the City of Manhattan and neighboring Communities.

Together we recognize the past, to celebrate a future for all.  Self-pride, self-improvement and self-worth is what we want to share with the world. Cities and states throughout the country, celebrate this mark in history with people of all nationalities, religions and creeds.

When you understand someone’s history whether good, bad or indifferent, you can come to understand one’s struggle, and begin to accept their differences and embrace their contributions to society.
